Few Milestones

Diplo became DJ at a local radio during his studies around 1997. Home-grown rap played a key role in his production style.

In 2004, M.I.A. approached Diplo after hearing one of his songs. They worked together and created the Grammy-nominated track “Paper Planes”.
He gained popularity and it landed him collaboration with artists such as Shakira, Kid Cudi, Bruno Mars and Snoop Dogg.

In 2008, Diplo and Switch founded Major Lazer. It was the occasion for him to incorporate his influences as Miami Bass and Baile Funk.

In 2013, he formed with Skrillex the duo Jack Ü. They released together tracks such as “Take Ü There” and “Where Are Ü Now” featuring Justin Bieber.

In 2018, Diplo formed a third project called LSD, standing for Labrinth, Sia and Diplo.
