Four Tet began his music career as a member of the post-rock band Fridge, formed in 1990s with Adem Ilhan and Sam Jeffers.
In 1997, he released his first solo single “Double Density” on the label Output Recordings, under the alias 4T Recordings.
Two years later, as Four Tet, he released his debut album “Dialogue”, again on Output Recordings.
In 2009, he worked on a secret collaboration with Burial. They released a vinyl with a plain black cover with no liner notes or details contained, other than the artists’ names and the track titles: “Moth” and “Wolf Cub”.
In 2019, Four Tet released three new songs as part of an EP called “Anna Painting”, which was made in collaboration with painter Anna Liber Lewis.
